Product Packaging Moving to a Kilogram Based System
Effective June 2008 (changed from the original April date) product packaging will change from pounds to kilograms for all pharmaceutical grade products that are supplied in a corrugated box (Carbopol® polymers, Pemulen® polymers and Noveon® AA-1 polycarbophil). This change is in conjunction with our implementation of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Currently, pharmaceutical grade polymers are supplied in either 50 lb (22.68 kg) or 20 kg (44.10 lb) boxes depending on the product. In the future, products will be supplied in either 22 kg (48.50 lb) or 20 kg (44.10 lb) boxes. There will be a brief transition period where customers may receive product packaged in either pounds or kilograms as we work through existing inventory. Wherever possible, we will supply only 50 lb or 22 kg boxes in any given order of a single product during this transition period.
