As a member of the American Chemistry Council, Lubrizol supports Responsible Care®, the chemical industry’s initiative to continually improve health, safety and environmental performance worldwide. Protecting the health and safety of our employees, customers and neighbors has been part of our corporate philosophy since we began.

In October 2006, DNV, an accredited Responsible Care® Management System auditor, issued RCMS certification to Lubrizol’s Wickliffe and Brecksville headquarters. Through its membership in the American Chemistry Council, the company is required to implement this system; however, more important than the requirement, Lubrizol management is dedicated to continually improve its health, safety, environmental and security performance.

In 2007, the company will be certifying an additional six manufacturing sites in the United States – in Texas (2), Kentucky, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Ohio. The process will continue into 2008 and beyond as the company develops its global Responsible Care® strategy.
